Alyssa Beth Cox

Alyssa Beth Cox is a small-town artist from Marlow, Oklahoma and is now currently living in Duncan, Oklahoma. She is a senior at Cameron University, expected to graduate in spring of 2023 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts concentrating in painting, although she actively works in a variety of mediums. During her time at the college, Alyssa has received top placings at Cameron University's annual student exhibits as well as the Award of Exceptionalism awarded by the college's Fine Arts department administration. Once graduated, she will pursue her master’s to further develop her work and to pursue her ambitions of becoming an art instructor. She is actively a part of Duncan's Chisholm Trail Arts Council, participating in their art exhibits/galleries, contests, volunteer events, and works part-time as an assistant in their main office. Alyssa enjoys and is proficient with a variety of mediums including oil, gouache, pastels, colored pencils, ink, digital, and various methods of printmaking. No matter the medium, her main focus is to stay true to her pursuit to create convincing and genuine “Works of Faith”. She enjoys quick pace works such as figure drawing and plein air painting but loves, even more so, the payoff of working for extended periods on highly refined imagery. Her favorite subjects to work with are nature scenes of flowers, birds, & horses and narrative works with themes surrounding her Christian faith.
